Join artist Julie Shafer as she shows you how to turn everyday objects such as soda cans, oatmeal tins, and boxes into cameras. Participants of this workshop will create a pinhole camera, photograph around downtown Riverside, and develop their pictures in our darkroom. Put your digital camera down for a day as you learn about this analogue process that yields amazing images!

Julie Shafer is a Los Angeles-based artist whose work will be included in the upcoming UCR/CMP exhibition Twisted Selves. She teaches photography at several area schools including Chaffey College and Cal-State Fullerton.
